This cute white cottage, damaged in the Christchurch earthquakes enjoyed a complete Bowers makeover!
From re-levelling the whole property with full foundation replacement, new roof and a whole reconfigured layout, this was a major residential project.
Re-levelling and Foundations
We started at the ground up and carried out a full timbre piles foundation replacement. This led to new floors throughout the property
On ‘good weather days’ the original corrugated iron roof was completely removed, so the house was stripped back to the original wooden frame. We had to replace and add extra purlins to make the house structurally sound. A striking pioneer red colour steel new roof, guaranteed for 25 years, was then added to the home.
Inside the layout was reconfigured. Again we went back to the wooden frame of the building to rework the layout and when the new rooms were framed out, added new jib. Some windows were replaced and a french door added. Some weatherboards were replaced and some repaired so the finished outside looked immaculate.
A young couples home is now safe, secure and looks fantastic! The last photo shows the cottage before any of the work started.
